Checked into Spiliotica On The Cliff - Santorini- Greek Islands Spiliotica On The Cliff - Santorini- Greek Islands I've been very fortunate to see some beautiful destinations around the world but Santorini has left with me with such a strong a sense of deep love and admiration I have never felt before. I can only describe the island of Santorini as a magical place, a treasured holiday destination and an island with mystical beauty and elegance. Santorini is one of the most popular and romantic of all of the Greek Islands and most known for their spectacular sunsets over the Caldera and Volcano. It can also be a little tricky and overwhelming place to book accommodation. Where is the best place to stay in Santorini? For the most romantic, exclusive area, with the best views of Santorini, in my opinion is the village of"Imerovigli". I was very lucky to spend a few days checked into the boutique "Spiliotica On The Cliff" Suites and Apartments".  Spiliotica On The Cliff Suites & Apartments - Imerovigli Santorini This quaint hotel is tucked away high on the cliff in the picturesque village of Imerovigli and boasts the most amazing positions for Santorini's stunning sunsets. I chose this hotel as I wanted a more traditional Greek style hotel in a quieter area, a pool with a view and in walking distance to Fira's restaurants, shopping and nightlife. But most importantly the best seat in the house of the sensational sunsets and I found it!! Imerovigli village is located only 10-15 minutes from the airport and 20-30 minutes drive from the port of Santorini, Here a handy driving tip.. watch out for the one way streets. I learnt the hard way....Spiliotica is perched on one of the highest points of the island and it is literally set into the cliffside. To access the hotel you will need to walk 60 metres down a few sets of stairs, follow the signs and you arrive at Spiliotica On The Cliff. If you have hired a car (which I would highly recommend) you will need to park in the village centre less than 100 metres from the hotel or by taxi be dropped in the square close to hotel. Don't worry the friendly staff will assist you with your luggage down the stairs. When you arrive you will stare in awe at the uninterrupted view over the Caldera and the Aegean Sea. It is such a picturesque location! As soon as I arrived at the footstep of the hotel I was instantly welcomed by the friendly Spiliotica team. The lovely Mayra showed me to my room and a tour of the hotel facilities. The following morning the Manager, Mr Christos sat me down with a map and gave me a personalised overview of the best spots to visit on the island. The service was impeccable and Mayra made me feel right at home. The rooms and facilities have recently undergone new fresh renovations while still capturing the traditional greek island style with added modern touches. The highlight of our stay was the roof top pool with amazing views of the volcanic islands and sea, the breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the caldera, and the very comfortable Coco Mat beds. It is a very popular place and no I know why. Spiliotica truly has the best views for the most memorable Santorini sunsets. The Rooms at Spiliotica The hotel has a great variety of rooms to suite all budgets. From the standard Caldera View room, to the honeymoon suite to the Villa Plunge Pools rooms all with magical views. I could keep talking about this fantastic hotel but you will just need to check it out yourself. I highly recommend check into Spiliotica On The Cliff when staying in Santorini. It is well priced for the amazing location and views. I had a wonderful experience and I will be back soon.
